Record significant growth in imports and exports Janat News

Islamabad – The volume of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Bangladesh has registered a significant increase in the first two months of the current financial year.

In this regard, sources say that in July and August this year, 35.42% increase in Pakistan’s exports to Bangladesh and 52.54% increase in imports from Bangladesh have been recorded.

According to the data released by the State Bank, in the first two months of the current fiscal year, exports to Bangladesh earned the country 144.11 million dollars, which is 35.42 percent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year.

In the same period of the previous financial year, the country earned $106.41 million in foreign exchange from exports to Bangladesh. Pakistan’s exports to Bangladesh were recorded at $72.61 million in August, compared to $71.50 million in July and $55.38 million in August last year.

Exports to Bangladesh are recorded at $870.60 million in FY 2022. According to the data, in the first two months of the current financial year, an increase of 52.54 percent has been recorded in the import from Bangladesh on an annual basis.

Foreign exchange spent on imports from Bangladesh was $14.93 million in July and August, as against $9.72 million in the same period last fiscal.

Imports from Bangladesh were recorded at $7.44 million in August, $7.39 million in July and $6.20 million in August last year.
