A shopkeeper had to face jail time for illegally selling liquor in a grocery store. The accused was produced in the Rajsamand court on Thursday. The magistrate ordered to send the shopkeeper Girdhari Singh to judicial custody.
In this case, Amet SDM Nisha Saharan said that a complaint was received about selling illegal liquor at a grocery shop in Vanveria village of Amet police station area. On the complaint, they raided the Mateshwari grocery store in village Vanveria of Agaria Gram Panchayat. Where the team recovered country-made and English liquor.
According to the police, liquor was being sold without a license in the grocery store. A total of 50 bottles of 750 ml of English liquor, 12 bottles of 375 ml, 185 of 180 ml, 19 of 500 ml and 470 bottles of 180 ml of country liquor were found. The accused has been arrested and liquor has been confiscated. A case has been registered under the sections of the Excise Act.
