Anuppur. After two years due to Corona epidemic, this year Shree Jagannath Bhagwan’s Rath Yatra Festival was organized with great pomp. The Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath was taken out on Friday from the Shri Adishakti Panchayati temple of the city by ritualistic worship. The weather became pleasant due to drizzling for half an hour before the journey. It is as if Indradev has also welcomed Lord Jagannath, the Lord of the earth, by performing Jalabhishek with the rain. The temple committee had made grand preparations for the festival. Anyway, it is said that Jagannath’s rice is spread in the world. Thousands of devotees gather here to eat the prasad of Lord Jagannath, who hold the rope attached to the chariot and cheer him while pulling him. On the other hand, other devotees welcome the Lord by cleaning every passage that passes by. It is believed that doing so brings prosperity to the region, due to which people wait again throughout the year to follow this tradition. In the Jagannath Rath Yatra organized on June 1, the Rath Yatra reached the temple through other major streets including Station Chowk, Gandhi Chowk, Sabzi Mandi Road, Old Hospital Marg in the city. Where the devotees dragged the decorated special chariot with the help of a rope and made a tour of the whole city. During the yatra, devotees showered flowers while performing aarti when the chariot of the Lord reached in front of the houses. The same townspeople also welcomed them from place to place. Lord Jagannath, sister Subhadra and elder brother Balabhadra were in the chariot. In which after taking a special bath, after offering worship according to the law, it was taken out for the darshan of the devotees. Cleanliness system was made by the municipality regarding the journey. While the police administration was also prepared for security regarding the procession.
